The semi-axle of the car (drive shaft, drive) is a special shaft through which the transmission of torque from the internal combustion engine to the drive wheels is realized. The axle shaft (drive axle shaft) allows you to create a movable contact and effectively transmits force while maintaining the ability to turn the wheels. The semi-axle also reduces vibrations, takes on various loads (gravity, traction, braking forces, bending moments, etc.).
Structurally, two hinges ( SHRUS ) are attached to the semi-axle, which allow for the uniform transmission of torque regardless of the position of the wheels and suspension parts. As a result, vibrations on the steering wheel are reduced, the car moves smoothly, and power losses from the engine at the wheels are minimized.
