The 4l-FE engine is the biggest of the three engines and it delivers power of 173 kW.

The 1KD-FTV Turbo Diesel Engine has turbocharger with intercooler fitted to control exhaust gas temperature. The type of engine that was first introduced in 2005 which is known as the 1GD-FTV has just been improved with better performance which is the 1KD-FTV fitted in the current model Hilux.

Toyota Hilux Engine block

The function of engine block is to seal cylinders while accepting airflow from the intake manifold for each combustion chamber and distributing that throughout the crankcase via a separate branch pipe. The engine block also houses many components such as: piston assemblies, crankshaft, spark plugs, intake and exhaust valves (some models), camshaft(s) (some models), oil pan (some models).

Different cars have different requirements when it comes to replacing parts on their car engines. For example, most common car engines need the engine block, pistons, crankshaft, camshaft(s), oil pan. However, not all engines need all these parts replaced in most cases.
