Toyota Yaris heater core replacement is a known cabin-temperature complaint on the 1.3 and 1.5 NSP series — the original core develops pinhole leaks at the radiator-bay end fittings after 10+ years of SA service, presenting first as a sweet coolant smell inside the cabin and then as fogged windscreens.

Both depots stock used OEM cores pulled from CPT-dismantled donors at R650-R1,400 pressure-tested before sale, and new aftermarket replacements from the JHB depot at R1,200-R2,400 with a 12-month warranty. Heater hoses, expansion tank caps and the matched HVAC blower motor are sold separately. Cabin teardown is a 4-6 hour job — quote your VIN before ordering since later Yaris generations changed HVAC dimensions and cores are not interchangeable across years.
