Toyota Urban Cruiser Brake Pads — Front & Rear
Urban Cruiser front brake pads are shared across the SA-market 1.5 VVTi petrol and the rare 1.4 D-4D diesel variants. Both depots hold new aftermarket pad sets at R450-R900 per axle and OEM-equivalent ceramics at R750-R1,400 from the JHB depot with a 12-month warranty.
The Urban Cruiser shares its front brake disc with the Etios 1.5, so disc and pad bundles are usually available as a matched pair — useful if the pads have run metal-on-metal and the disc surface is scored. Used original pads from CPT donors are stocked but generally not recommended unless the donor was low-mileage and has visible pad material remaining. Replace front pads in axle sets — uneven wear across an axle causes pull on braking and is a roadworthy failure.
