Toyota RunX Fuel Pumps — In-Tank Replacement
Toyota RunX fuel pump replacement is a known consumable on the 1.4 1NZ-FE, 1.6 3ZZ-FE and 1.8 1ZZ-FE petrol RunX variants — original in-tank pumps fail after 200,000+ km with hot-restart complaints as the first symptom and progressing to no-start.
New aftermarket pumps run R850-R2,200 with strainer and sender unit bundled; OEM-equivalent R1,400-R3,200. Used OEM pumps from CPT donors are stocked at R450-R900 but bench-tested for pressure and flow before sale. The in-tank fuel level sender is sold separately if only the float arm has failed. RunX RSi (2ZZ-GE) fuel pumps are scarcer and trade R1,800-R3,800 used. Always replace the tank-side fuel filter at the same job — small extra cost, saves a re-job within 6-12 months.
