RunX electrical complaints cluster around three failures on ageing 140i, 160i and 180i RSi examples — weak alternators, dead starters, and flaky coil packs triggering misfires on the 1ZZ-FE and 2ZZ-GE. The toyota runx electrical range addresses all three. Used alternators land at R620-R1,300 depending on amperage rating, and 3ZZ-FE / 1ZZ-FE starter motors run R420-R980. The 2ZZ-GE RSi starter is scarcer and priced R850-R1,400 when available.

You can request individual coil-on-plug units (R220-R450), crank and cam position sensors, oxygen sensors, ECUs, immobiliser boxes, ignition switches, window motors, wiper motors, fuses, relays and dashboard loom connectors. RSi ECUs pair with the immobiliser and require matched programming. Batteries for the RunX are supplied as 12V 55-65Ah units from R450-R850 depending on CCA rating and remaining life.
