Suspension for Toyota Condor

The Condor rides on a traditional commercial-vehicle setup — coil-spring front with wishbones on most variants, and leaf-sprung live-axle rear on LWB and load-carrying trims (coil-sprung rear on the Estate). Our toyota condor suspension range covers shock absorbers, coil springs, leaf springs, control arms, ball joints and bushings across all variants. Sway bar links and stabilizer bar bushings are in stock for the Estate and station-wagon bodies.

Leaf springs on LWB Condors that spent years hauling sand, timber or farm supplies usually need replacing rather than re-arching — we stock heavy-duty replacement packs from JHB with ratings from stock up to +500 kg payload. Ball joints typically fail between 120,000 and 180,000 km on farm-spec bakkies, and we sell them as new aftermarket and used OEM from CPT pulls. If the front end is clunking over speed bumps, it's almost always the lower ball joints or the control arm bushings — both are affordable consumables.

Suspension for Toyota Condor — Frequently Asked

What are the symptoms of worn Condor ball joints?

Clunking over bumps, vague steering feel, and uneven tyre wear on the outer front edge all point to lower ball joints. On Condors running farm duty, the lowers typically fail around 120,000-180,000 km. Replace in pairs — uneven wear between sides causes geometry issues. New aftermarket lower ball joints run R280-R550 each.

Do you sell uprated leaf springs for the Condor LWB?

Yes. For the LWB and load-carrying Condor variants, we stock heavy-duty leaf-spring packs rated for up to 500 kg additional payload. A standard uprated pack runs R2,800-R5,500 per side. We do not recommend adding leaves to an existing perished pack — swap the full assembly to preserve ride geometry and suspension articulation.

Are Hi-Ace shock absorbers compatible with a Condor?

Rear shocks are often cross-compatible between Condor and Hi-Ace of the same era, since both run leaf-sprung live axles with similar mount geometry. Front shocks differ slightly depending on variant and model year. Always quote the Condor year and body type (LWB vs Estate) so we verify length, mount type and damping rate before shipping.
